Most dogs prefer their nails to be dremmeled, so they are gradually shortened rather than the *crunch crunch* of the nail trimmers. We do everything possible to gently and calmly help your pup become acclimated to nail trimming.
Overgrown nails can easily get overlooked and out of control (especially with the fluffy pups!). Long nails can crack, cause splayfoot, and make it painful for your pups to even take a short walk. Getting your little bud’s nails trimmed short consistently can be more important than you think, and can be done much easier and more pain/anxiety-free than you might think!
It’s also important to frequently handle your dog’s paws at home to get them accustomed to nail trims and paw pad trims. Sometimes, handling your dog’s paws with something like an electric toothbrush can help them get used to the vibration of the dremmel tool.
Nail trims at PDX Pet Spa cost just $20-$25, and take 5-10 minutes. Give us a call or text to set up an appointment for a lovely paw-dicure anytime!
